Field Service Operations Platform for an Electrical Contractor
A regional electrical service company was managing field technician dispatching, job tracking, and customer records entirely through spreadsheets and paper-based processes. Scheduling conflicts were common, job history was difficult to retrieve, and the office team had no real-time visibility into where technicians were or what jobs were active.
AccessEvolved designed and built a custom field service management platform using Microsoft Power Apps on a Dataverse backend. The solution included a mobile-friendly technician interface for logging job details in the field, an office dispatch view with live job status, and automated geocoding of job sites using the US Census API with a built-in Maps control for visual dispatching. A QuickBooks Online integration was also developed to sync job data with the client’s accounting workflow, eliminating double entry.
The result was a fully connected field-to-office operation. Dispatchers gained real-time job visibility, technicians could update job status from their phones, and invoice data flowed directly into QuickBooks without manual re-entry. The client went from reactive firefighting to a proactive, data-driven service operation.

Automated Incident Reporting Workflow for a Healthcare Services Organization
A behavioral health organization was handling incident reports through a manual email chain process. Clinical supervisors were receiving incomplete notifications, follow-up tasks were falling through the cracks, and there was no consistent audit trail for compliance purposes.
AccessEvolved built a multi-stage Power Automate workflow triggered by Microsoft Forms submissions. The flow dynamically routed notifications to the appropriate clinical supervisor based on incident type and location, attached relevant form data to each email, and logged every action to a SharePoint list for audit trail purposes. A secondary flow handled follow-up reminders when supervisors had not acknowledged a report within a defined window.
Incident response time dropped significantly, supervisors received complete and correctly routed information on the first notification, and leadership gained a consolidated SharePoint-based log they could reference for compliance reviews — replacing a process that had previously relied entirely on manually tracked emails.

Legacy Database Migration for a Manufacturing Distributor
A wholesale distribution company had been running its core business operations on a Microsoft Access 97 database for over two decades. The system contained years of product, vendor, and transaction history, but was increasingly fragile — incompatible with modern Windows environments, unable to support multiple concurrent users, and at risk of catastrophic data loss with no reliable backup process in place.
AccessEvolved performed a full assessment of the legacy system, documented all table relationships, queries, forms, and reports, and executed a structured migration to Microsoft Access 365 with a modernized schema and rebuilt interface. Data integrity was validated at each stage using reconciliation queries to confirm record counts and key field values matched the source system. Where appropriate, legacy reports were rebuilt with improved formatting and automated refresh logic.
The client came away with a stable, supported platform that integrated cleanly with their Microsoft 365 environment, could be accessed by multiple users simultaneously, and included a documented backup and recovery process — giving them confidence in a system they now rely on rather than fear.

Parts Order Management for an Auto Service Chain
A regional auto service company had been running their parts ordering process through an Access database for over fifteen years. It worked — until it didn’t. A Windows update broke a critical form, and the workaround their IT contact had applied was itself becoming unstable. They needed out.
AccessEvolved migrated the entire system to a Power Apps canvas app on a Dataverse backend. All historical order data was cleaned and imported, and the new interface was built to mirror the workflows staff already knew so adoption was immediate. The client went from a single-user, single-machine dependency to a browser-accessible app any authorized user could open from anywhere.

Grant Tracking for a Nonprofit Organization
A nonprofit had been managing grant applications, award amounts, reporting deadlines, and funder contacts in an Access database that only one person on staff knew how to operate. When that employee gave notice, the organization realized how exposed they were.
AccessEvolved rebuilt the system in Power Apps with SharePoint as the data layer, added Power Automate flows for deadline reminders, and documented everything. The transition took three weeks. The new system required no specialized database knowledge to maintain, and the entire development team could access and update records without relying on a single gatekeeper.

Job Costing for a Commercial Flooring Contractor
A flooring contractor had used Access for job costing since the early 2000s. The database had grown organically over the years into something only the owner fully understood — undocumented queries, redundant tables, and no backup process. One hard drive failure away from losing everything.
AccessEvolved conducted a full audit of the existing system, untangled the data model, and rebuilt the solution in Power Apps on Dataverse with role-based access for estimators, project managers, and accounting staff. Automated cost summary reports replaced a manual Excel export process the owner had been running every Friday for years. The client finally had a system that the whole team could use — and that would still be running five years from now.
Is your business still running on Access?
If any of these situations sound familiar, you’re not alone. Many organizations are running critical operations on aging Access databases that are one bad update, one departed employee, or one hardware failure away from a serious problem. AccessEvolved specializes in modernizing these systems — preserving your data and your workflows while moving you to a platform that’s secure, scalable, and built for how teams work today. Reach out for a free consultation and let’s talk about what a migration could look like for your business.
